Welcome to UnlockIt ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the UnlockIt mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
"Client" means a user who seeks locksmith services through the Service. "Locksmith" means a professional locksmith who provides services through the Service. "Booking" means a request for locksmith services made through the Service. "User" means any person who accesses or uses the Service, whether as a Client or Locksmith.
To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information including name, email, phone number, and (for Locksmiths) business details. You agree to keep this information updated. We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws (including GDPR). By using the Service, you consent to such processing. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
Locksmiths must complete a verification process before receiving the "Verified" badge. This includes submitting: (a) a valid government-issued ID (front and back); (b) a professional locksmith license or equivalent certification; and (c) certain legal details such as full legal name, postal address (street, postcode, city, country), and, where applicable, company name. We review documents and details manually, may request additional information, and aim to complete review within a reasonable timeframe (typically 1–2 working days), but we do not guarantee a specific decision time. We do not guarantee approval; we reserve the right to reject applications. Verified status may be revoked if we discover false or fraudulent documents or information. Verification is for trust and safety; we do not warrant the competence of any Locksmith.
UnlockIt operates a marketplace platform that connects Clients with Locksmiths. We do not employ Locksmiths directly. The Service facilitates the booking and coordination of locksmith services. The quality, timing, legality, and suitability of services provided by Locksmiths are the sole responsibility of the Locksmith. We do not guarantee the availability of any Locksmith or the quality of services provided.
All prices and payments are in euros (EUR). Payment is due at booking: when you tap Book Now, you pay immediately via card through our payment processor (Stripe). Funds are held until the locksmith completes the job and you confirm completion; then we release the payout to the locksmith (can be immediate or up to 7 days; timing depends on Stripe and the locksmith's bank). If you report a problem, funds remain held until the dispute is resolved (see section 8a). Locksmiths set their own rates. We charge a 10% platform commission on each booking; Stripe card fee (for EUR) is deducted from the locksmith payout. Example: €100.00 booking → locksmith receives ~€88.35. Locksmiths must complete bank details (Stripe Connect) to receive payouts; until then, funds remain with the platform. All prices shown are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. If VAT becomes applicable in the future, it will be added transparently at checkout.
Each completed booking includes a 7-day warranty from the date the client confirms completion. The warranty is provided by the locksmith and covers the work they performed; for any issues within this period, contact your locksmith or groupit4usupport@gmail.com. Warranty and receipt details are available in the Bookings tab and Profile.
You will not be charged and will receive a full refund in the following cases: (a) You cancel a pending booking (before the locksmith accepts). (b) The locksmith declines your pending booking. (c) The locksmith cancels a confirmed booking (after they had accepted). (d) For disputed bookings: the locksmith chooses "Cancel & Refund Client," or the company, after reviewing both sides, decides in your favor. In all these cases, we process the refund on our side immediately through Stripe. When it appears on your card depends on your bank and Stripe (can be immediate or up to 7 days). When you report a problem (tap "Not Complete" after the locksmith marks the job done), the booking becomes disputed. Payment is held until the dispute is resolved. The locksmith may submit a response; you may request a refund for company review. We will review both your report and the locksmith's response and decide whether to refund you or pay the locksmith. The locksmith may also choose to cancel and refund you, or to mark the job complete again (giving you a new confirmation prompt). Our decision on disputed bookings is final. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You shall not: (a) use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws; (b) impersonate any person or entity; (c) interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers; (d) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or other users' accounts; (e) use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person; or (f) use the Service for any commercial purpose other than as a Client or Locksmith in accordance with these Terms.
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by UnlockIt and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our prior written consent.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, UnlockIt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from (a) your use or inability to use the Service; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; or (c) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may temporarily suspend or limit access to the Service for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons. When maintenance mode is active, users may see a temporary "Under maintenance" screen until the Service is restored. We aim to minimise disruption and will restore access as soon as reasonably practicable. Authorised company administrators may retain access during maintenance for platform management.
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which UnlockIt operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
